Extinguishing agent NAF S 125
NAF S 125 is identified by international standards as HFC and is a clean agent suitable for total flooding applications. Although all potential risks are all very individual cases, the use of NAF extinguishing agents can be an advantage in one or more of the circumstances below:
- when the discharge time of 10 seconds is essential
- when an extinguishing agent that leaves no residue is indispensable
- when an inert non-electroconductive extinguishing agent is necessary
- when the weight and space occupied are key factors
- when there is danger of not being able to guarantee the safety of the staff
The rapid discharge guarantees reduced extinguishing times, which limit the amount of damage caused by the fire and the formation of the products of decomposition which are typical of halogenated extinguishing agents. During the tests carried out at the minimum extinguishing concentrations, i.e. without the safety factors of the design concentrations, the flames were always extinguished just a few seconds after the end-of-discharge, demonstrating the ability of the product to distribute itself evenly inside the protected room and to extinguish even the most hidden of fires.
The NAF S 125 product has passed all the tests set forth by the relative UL standard and even the calculation software has been UL approved for use with Eusebi hardware. Tests for IMO approval required for installation on naval and off-shore units are currently under way.
